Our Vision
To become an international reference in advanced biomaterials and sustainable technologies, contributing to healthier, more resilient and resource-efficient societies.

Deep-tech research & development · Portugal
Dendriwave develops advanced biomaterials and sustainable chemical technologies through two specialised, collaborative R&D departments.
The company
Dendriwave is a female-founded Portuguese deep-tech company. We connect rigorous experimental research with responsible innovation, building projects at the intersection of chemistry, materials science, biotechnology and sustainability.
Our structure brings scientific focus to each programme while making it easy to combine expertise across departments whenever a challenge calls for a genuinely multidisciplinary response.

To become an international reference in advanced biomaterials and sustainable technologies, contributing to healthier, more resilient and resource-efficient societies.
To translate multidisciplinary science into advanced biomaterials and sustainable chemical technologies that address challenges in healthcare, agriculture and industrial sustainability. We combine experimental R&D, theoretical simulations, validation, intellectual-property protection and collaboration to move scientific ideas towards practical impact.
Scientific structure
Each department has a distinct scientific mission, supported by shared capabilities in synthesis, formulation, characterisation and experimental validation.
Department of Nanomedicine and Advanced Biomaterials
Advanced materials and biointerfaces for prevention, diagnosis, monitoring and therapy, from molecular design to laboratory validation.
Department of Sustainable Chemistry and Circular Bioeconomy
Chemical and biotechnological routes that valorise resources, reduce environmental impact and enable more circular industrial and agricultural systems.
Selected R&D

Sustainable Chemistry & Circular Bioeconomy
A fully developed, proprietary one-step process for refining and purifying edible vegetable oils and animal fats, used edible oils and fish oils. Purionix offers a simple, cost-efficient and waterless route to oil purification.

A project developing sustainable bio-based packaging for hotel toiletries, with the goal of replacing the single-use plastic bottles, miniatures and wrappers that collectively generate tonnes of plastic waste every year. The material concepts use biopolymers obtained from agro-food waste to create more circular packaging films and coatings, transforming residual biomass into a valuable resource. EcoHost Pack also includes a public digital platform that helps communicate and understand the consumption and environmental impact of disposable hotel amenities.

Nanomedicine & Advanced Biomaterials
A multidisciplinary pipeline for the development of advanced polymeric and hybrid nanomaterials for controlled drug delivery, imaging, biosensing and responsive therapeutics. Our approach connects molecular design, synthesis and formulation with physicochemical characterisation, theoretical simulations, biological evaluation and intellectual-property strategy, creating a structured route from an early scientific concept to a validated laboratory technology.
Sustainable Chemistry & Circular Bioeconomy
A circular-bioeconomy project that transforms agro-food waste and residual biomass into carbon nanodots for investigation as potential agricultural biostimulants. The work integrates feedstock valorisation, sustainable synthesis, nanomaterial characterisation and formulation with plant-based experimental validation, exploring a route from discarded biological resources to more resource-efficient agricultural technologies.
